{"id":36,"date":"2011-07-04T16:11:44","date_gmt":"2011-07-04T16:11:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/firststepsontheway.com\/?page_id=36"},"modified":"2011-07-04T16:11:44","modified_gmt":"2011-07-04T16:11:44","slug":"step-01-where-to-begin-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/firststepsontheway.com\/?page_id=36","title":{"rendered":"Step 01 Where to Begin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Where to Begin<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The very first verse of the Bible begins: <strong><em>\u201cIn the beginning <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">God<\/span> . . . \u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There is a God!\u00a0 God exists!\u00a0 The first thing that we need to believe is that God really is!<\/p>\n<p>The Bible teaches that <strong><em>\u201cwithout faith it is impossible to please Him, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek Him.\u201d<\/em><\/strong> (Hebrews 11:6)<\/p>\n<p>That God exists can be known in several ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The things that He has made tell us that there is a God Who made these things. (Romans 1:20)<\/li>\n<li>Our own consciences tell us that there is a God to Whom we are accountable.
