Introduction to<\/strong><\/p>\n Instruction about Baptisms<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n The Third of Six<\/p>\n “Elementary Teachings about Christ”<\/p>\n from Hebrews 6:1,2<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n We are studying Hebrews 6:1-2:<\/p>\n 1\u00a0 Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ<\/span> and go on to maturity, not laying again<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 the foundation <\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 of repentance from acts that lead to death, and <\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 of faith in God,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/em><\/strong>2 \u00a0<\/sup><\/em><\/strong>instruction<\/span><\/em><\/strong> about <\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 baptisms<\/span><\/em><\/strong>, <\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 the laying on of hands, <\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 the resurrection of the dead, and <\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 eternal judgment.<\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n In the verse two above did you notice that the word \u201cbaptisms<\/em><\/strong>\u201d<\/em><\/strong> is plural!\u00a0 Is there more than one kind of baptism in the New Testament?<\/p>\n Consider the following verse:<\/p>\n [John the Baptist said:]\u00a0 “I baptize you with water<\/span> for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry.
